Commerce City has something to brag about with El Jardin, a delightful Mexican eatery. The freestanding building is great looking with its southwestern feel and large parking area. Enter and the feeling is warm, casual and welcoming with booths, tables and art on the walls. There is a huge banquet room to one side where guests can be seated on very busy nights. The menu is huge with so many great choices. Start with chips and salsa and then do not miss the terrific guacamole. Other choices include nachos, shrimp cocktail, quesadillas and mini rellenos. Fajitas are very special here--choose lamb, chicken, beef or pork and they arrive with all the fixings. Flautas are in many forms, and tacos please in both soft and hard shell versions and come as sides or dinners. The Indian tacos, an El Jardin original is two toasted flour tortillas filled with chicken or beef, melted cheese, lettuce and tomato, served with beans, rice and pico de gallo. Enchiladas with green chile, seafood quesadillas, tilapia, burritos, and steak ranchero make decisions impossible. Add burgers, salads and even breakfast specialties for morning diners and you know why the place is so popular. Desserts make a perfect end with flan and mouthwatering cinnamon sprinkled sopapillas. With super service, a kiddie menu and affordable prices, El Jardin is everyone's "neighborhood" favorite.
